We had a family dog who sadly passed away back in 2018 due to old age and complications. As much as I love dogs and pets I don't think I would ever get one of own (as I live on my own) They tie you down so you can't go out for long periods of time or travel without having to find someone to watch your pet. They are easier than kids though ;D
First of all, we thought about why we love animals and pets? Actually, there is a sign that interacting with pets does reduce our anxiety and stress, provided the pet is behaving well. Good interactions do have quite a deep effect, initiating fluctuations in oxytocin and in beta-endorphins. Though these are actual deviations going on in the body of someone who is stroking a friendly dog.
